ooc- I'm gming Kain (aka buddy) in this post. Unless some would like to take him on [PWEASE] then i'll edit. still feel free to reply =)
Yuki pulled opened one of the double doors leading into one of her favourite areas of the city. "The right door." she made a mental note of it. She didn't know why. She moved slowly wiping only slightly muddy boots on the carpet. She walked past the desk keeping an eye on the boy as she moved into her most visited section - manga. Skimming though a new novel she kept her left eye free of the literature keeping it securely placed on the back of Kain's head. She watched annoyed as moved out of her direct line of view. He had done this twice now, moving to the back of the library before darting out an open window. Why the kept windows open was beyond Yuki in the first place. So ok it was sweltering hot outside. It didn't take to much common sense to shut all the windows and turn the air conditioning on. But then again the library probably couldn't even afford fans.
With an exaggerated sigh she threw the book towards the counter it landed gracefully sliding to a gentle stop. Turning sharply down the aile Kain had so kindly disappeared down she called over the should, " Click that in please. I'll be right back." she didn't bother explaining. All the librarians knew about Kain. Spotting him near a window, she leaned against a table gazing thoughtfully as he slowly eased one leg through. She cleared her throat then smirked at him one eye brow raised. "You've tried that several times now. Must I remind you it only worked the first time?" she told him with a hint of a smile set upon her mug. The boy scowled at her and brought his leg out from the window.
"I need to go to the bathroom."
She nodded," Right, like you need to go half an hour ago. Grab a book, then we can go home. You can go there. On the top floor mind, I have no intention of running after you." Grumbling he concurred, lingering for a moment to make sure he did as she bide she trotted back up to the counter. Swiping up the book she treated the girl with a rare smile, and thanks. Then drifting off again she went to find Kain. If he's tried to escape again. I'm going to drift him" she thought vainly. She could no more drift him the she could stop him from trying to avoid his fathers wishes.

Senna briskly walked into the library, not completely satisfied with her destination but realizing it was necessary. After all, she had a huge report to do for school and preferred to simply use books to complete such projects. She sighed inwardly, she was really far too behind, but perhaps if she pulled an all-nighter she’d get most of it done and catch up with the rest of the class. She’d maintain her excellent grades even if it killed her. Which, at the rate she was going, it very well might.
Knowing full well she’d end up getting distracted for around twenty or so minutes, Senna had planned to have the full day spent at the library. Distractions came to her easily when it came time to force the focus, so she hoped she was going to find what she needed quickly and be able to leave. What was that topic on… oh, yeah, urban legends and how they came to be developed. Or something like that.
Senna looked around the moment she came through the door. Great, the library looked busy. Wasn’t that her luck…she really wasn’t a people person, and for their sake she hoped no one bumped into her or disturbed her in any manner. She had stuff to get done, socialization could come later. Or never. The never part worked perfectly for her. All she wanted was her alone time. Get this damned project done and be over with it.
And it would have to be the best project. Just to spite the classmates who didn’t think she could pull it off. She hated how they knew she’d been leaving things to the last minute lately. Like it was any of their business. She still had better marks than most of them. So her schedule was a little…off. A least she was starting now, and would still have the next day to complete the finishing touches.
See? She could plan.
Senna resisted the urge to utter a growling sound of agitation. Damned library…why did it have to be so busy!? It was just another thing she had to worry about. The thought of being disturbed was just too much for her, already she was becoming angry at the prospect. She had a feeling some jerk would bother her. And she’d be sure he’d pay for it, even if it took her ages to get back at him she would. Her arrogance was complete, her sense of justified wrath immeasurable.
And she was in another bad, sour mood. They were becoming all too common for her.
Senna let her eyes drag toward the check out counter, hoping that people were beginning to leave. But to her dismay, all she saw were a couple of people who happened to work at the library, and a girl about her age who Senna could easily estimate to be even taller than she herself was, but not by much. She could tell this simply because she was actually proud of her height, and it put her up there with many of the guys who she had to best in athletic competitions. While Senna didn’t actually enjoy sports, she liked shoving her victory in her rivals’ faces. The fact that she kept fit, ate right, and had the legs for sports made her a force to be reckoned with. Lately, however, she’d begun caring about more important things. Like besting morons who thought they were smarter than her.
Well, really, she just had to be better than everyone else.
Senna eyed the girl, uncertain about what to think of her. She liked to analyze people on the spot. Of course, this served her little, and she instead offered nothing but a light nod to a lady who waved to her (who the heck was that person?), and shrugged as she walked further into the library, hoping to find the correct section that she desired in a hurry. God, this was going to take forever, wasn’t it? Just to spite her, it was going to take forever.
Senna’s posture became straighter as she noticed some people looking at her as she walked on by. Her eyes held their arrogant, wary glare already so all she had to do was raise an eyebrow and smirk their way to make them look away. What the heck did these people want, anyway? Couldn’t they just mind their own goddamn business for once? Why did people always have to look at her?
Senna gave a slight huff, taking part of her long red hair and throwing it behind her shoulder. She was purposely giving everyone an “I’m better than you are” vibe, knowing full well they’d think the worst of her and hopefully leave her alone. And she liked it that way. Libraries shouldn’t be crowded, anyway. She expected them to be more private and stay that way.

Yuki smirked at the girl who looked to her to be hopelessly lost in the sections upon sections. She couldn't help wondering what she was looking for but heck if she was going to offer any help. First of all she had better things to do, second of all it would offer Kain a perfect chance to run away again, and lastly she didn't feel like it. It was a surprise to Yuki that she had noticed the girl at all. Could be her hair." It was an obvious choice. The girls hair was a deep crimson shade a beauty to rival her own silver purple except her hair was naturally this colour and she doubted that girl's was. She watched for a second, the shape of her face and the annoyingly smug look in her face made her seem older in away. Yuki growled at this fact. Why, does everyone have to be older then me?" She turned away, the best way to make someone go away is to ignore them. Even if they don't leave they might as well have been. She snatched a glance down the rows of books. Damn. Kain was gone... banishing the sigh as it ventured forth she walked down the row. Glancing this way and that, cursing softly under her breath about what she was going to do to the boy when she found him. She tripped slightly, swearing aloud she looked down to see what dare get in her path. It was carpet. A bit of the ratty blue thread had come loose to form an obvious trap to all those who dared walk unaware. Like I shouldn't be." she snarled at herself.
Coming to the end of the row, she trotted down looking up each path. Rutt. She cursed herself for taking her eyes off him. Moving up the row she almost bumped into her favourite table. It sat in the very center of the library and was made of highly polished oak wood. She loved the design of the wood, and craftmanship put into it she smiled at it. Then frowned at the girl in her chair. Not just figuratively speaking her chair but literally. She came down here every day dragging that stupid boy with her, and sat in that chair everyday. Who ever dared take her place was in for a tongue lashing. But first to see if the crimson haired fiend was of any use.
Have you seen a boy." The tone could have accurately been taken for a growl but for Yuki and her impatience it was polite. She watched the girl for a second then continued," He's a tiny bit shorter then me with dark hair going every which way and ice blue eye." this description of Kain would have proven unnecessary were this intruder of her territory anyone else. Everyone knew Kain. As the culprit himself deemed it time to show herself she scowled at him. Oh there you are." she growled at him. Without looking at the girl she said," Never mind. Obviously he has returned. Yuki made to dodge around the girl except that she was interrupted by no other then Kain himself. She veered at him, but he ignored her - like usual.
Can I help you?"
Oh sure. Can he help you, what's she got that I don't? Yet he's polite to her. At least he could be nice to me...once in a while." She gazed at his face for a second trying to spot if this was a plot to get away from her. It seemed honest enough yet - he was smiling?
"I don't think I've seen you around here, have you found the section you were looking for."
Yuki almost murdered him, so Kain could be polite. Why couldn't he show that part of him to her," You work for his dad - duh!" she reminded herself. Right, it's not me it's his dad..." Was it not for her position of limited authority over him they could be friends then again - he was in school. If she wasn't working for him, she'd be working for someone else, ignoring him.

Senna made her way down the sections of books, not really bothering to begin her search right off the bat. Besides, she could find something that may be of creative use to her. After all, the stupid report was on urban legends, something Senna didn’t really care about and she’d therefore tweak it a bit to make it more interesting. What did she care what the rest of the population thought was all interesting and legend-worthy. God, some of them sounded so stupid that she wondered why anyone would even tell the tale once.
Her slightly-heeled boots made it difficult for her to walk along the disgusting carpet with its tacky color, the thread in the carpet putting her at odds with friction, making it so that she expected she could trip at any moment. They really needed to put in a new carpet, or some damned linoleum or whatnot. It’d be easier to clean, and she could walk a littler swifter. For once, she was glad she barely found the time to come to the library, what with working to keep paying the rent and going to school. She hated to admit it, but sometimes her father’s insistence on giving her an allowance was useful.
Senna pulled a book down from the shelf. She didn’t bother to read the title, just reading the inside of the jacket in a hurried fashion. Something about gambling and how it had brought about some myths and how they could be used to someone’s advantage. Huh…sounded stupid and pointless, but it was better than nothing. Some urban legends must have spawned from gambling. Right? Why was she given this horrid topic?!
Senna left the aisle, turning down to see a table probably made of oak, too polished for her tastes. It looked shiny and therefore oily to her. She preferred more basic items, something that show durability and simplicity all at once. Someone was sitting at it, a girl Senna didn’t recognize and bothered with her no further after registering her appearance in her mind, only to be discarded later. Senna looked around for a moment or so, debating which direction to move in next. Then she heard a voice, it sounded only slightly harsh, Senna deciding it belonged to someone frazzled. She looked to see who it was.
Ah. So it was that girl, the one she’d seen by the counter a little earlier, only now Senna could see her close up. The girl was slightly taller than Senna was, she’d estimated that correctly, and it appeared that her hair had a silvery tone to it. Hmm…okay. So she was bothering Senna about some boy? Why would Senna care about a boy, she had better things to do than chase after some male who was probably not even worth the effort if he apparently didn’t want to be with her. Or at least, that’s what Senna’s mind was telling her. It was the first conclusion she’d jumped to.
“Now why would I bother with noticing some boy?” She asked, using a slightly sarcastic tone to emphasize her desire at not wishing to be bothered, “I’m rather busy so –“
The boy had returned? Great. Now leave her alone. But she could have been a tad more polite, oh well, another enemy added to her list. And so quickly, too. While Senna didn’t mind being rude, adored it to a certain extent, even, she would never tolerate others acting out in a rude manner toward her. Even the slightest little word or action that could be taken in the wrong way would be. While Senna didn’t intentionally make it seem as though she loved gathering enemies, she had a tendency to make them quickly, being that she lacked the social grace to excuse anything. Her memory was perfect when it came to something negative about other individuals.
Senna shrugged, shaking her head, making to leave and move into her decided direction. But another voice interrupted her, this time one that sounded male, which only annoyed her further. Could she be helped? Excuse you, dude, but she did not need any help in any form. What was she taken for?
She whirled on him, sending her hair flying behind her to fall down across her back once more, with pieces resting on her shoulder. “Uh…no.” she glowered, clearly not pleased with what was probably a kind gesture.
Ah, evidently he had noticed her lack of attendance here at the library. She calmed herself a little, stoking her temper. “I’m looking for no section in particular,” she replied more cordially, turning to look at the girl. This was the boy she’d been looking for? How odd. It was the only word that came to her mind; odd. Okay, so evidently, at the look on the other girl’s face, this was an uncommon occurrence for her. Whether it be the way the boy was behaving or something else.
Was this politeness fake? Sure, perhaps Senna was being quick to assume the negatives, but she was also analyzing her situation, as she often did without actually going out of her way to do so.
Senna allowed a slight shrug, still clutching the hardcover in her left hand, the plastic-like covering the library had given it was uncomfortable for Senna, not liking the prospect of her hands probably becoming sweaty soon. That was all she’d need. But she was eager to end the day and just get everything done with so she could go home, she’d need to unwind after this crowded feeling she was beginning to get.

Yuki felt a strange feeling in her gut as Senna brushed off Kain. That was kind of harsh she thought as she watch Kain visibly deflate in front of her. Come on," she told him, Let's get back home," She began to walk down the isle at a quick pace, but a stready one keep an eye out for more hazardous tripping areas. A sound behind her notified that someone else had not been so careful. Disappearing out the door she paused and turned expecting to see Kain. However he had not follower her as she had expected. Going back into the library annoyance painted firmly upon her face she turned up the isle to glance at the boy. Standing as though struck he was staring at Senna. Yuki rolled her eyes, scowling she she easily came up the row with easy strides. Firmly latching onto one of his ears she pulled dragging him with her. Harshly she hissed," You can get her phone number later - after I've gone home"

Senna rolled her eyes as she examined the two further. She was clearly finding neither of them all that pleasant, and she was making no effort to make her own self seem that way. She was very busy, and she’d been slacking lately. She therefore felt a very large pull to making up for that in the worst way. She wasn’t used to feeling so low, and she felt as though she desperately had to push everything she’d been leaving out of the way, get it done and over with. Even if she seemed to deserve a break in the eyes of others, she wasn’t allowing herself to view things that way. She’d made the decision to work her butt off the moment she moved out of her parents’ home. And that choice may have been rash, but it had been thought-out.
And so, as she looked at the two of them, she felt that familiar irritated feeling welling up within her, and a little voice begging her not to blow up. Not here, not now. And she managed to swallow the random burst of rage she was so used to, and blamed it on the stress she’d been feeling the last few days. Anyone would get a little worked up.
But then she noticed that the girl was speaking, saying to the boy that they were leaving. Senna almost shrugged, but instead averted her eyes away from them, particularly away from the boy. She was used to being practically gaped at when she offered a harsh response. Some people just couldn’t take it, and she was fine with that. He was no different from any other person. And to be quite frank, she really didn’t care what he thought.
Some people, at that point, may start feeling sorry for themselves. Making excuses for their actions, maybe thinking ‘well they should try out my life for a change’ and such like that. But not Senna. She knew she’d made her own decisions, and that if things did get rough she could always run to her family for money. After all, the Hatshepsuts owned a large estate back in Egypt, that did say something. And while they were no longer part of the upper class they belonged to five years ago, they were upper-middle, and Senna knew that even though her parents never showed affection, they cared, but just not in the right way. Or…she hoped; but she was almost sure that they cared.
So when people couldn’t accept her blunt nature, or her brash, abrasive, and rude attitude, she didn’t care. That was her. Take it or leave it, no questions asked. Besides, he could stand there and gape but she had also made the effort to reply in a slightly more cordial manner once she decided that her blatant ‘no’ was probably a tad too much.
And not only that, but she was only very aware of the girl’s current distaste of the situation, and Senna felt for her. She was not pleased either, although that wasn’t saying much as she normally found herself displeased with whatever she happened to be involved with at the time. It wasn’t overachieving by any means, it was just pure and unexplained distaste. Enough said.
She made no effort to say anything in regard for the poor boy when the girl grabbed him by the ear. She did, however, raise an eyebrow in a seemingly sarcastic sort of way, evidently not impressed by the display taking form in front of her. While Senna was not judging the girl negatively, she did think the ear pulling was a bit too much to show someone. Even Senna had tact in that area, although she would admit very easily that sometimes she would show a lacking in that area. But for the moment, she felt a certain righteousness in the area of judgement, feeling – for whatever reason -, that she had the power to judge, even if it was slightly hypocritical.

Kain sat in a chair at the library, he leaned back hard stretching legs that easily touched the chair on the opposite side of the table. He had come back here looking for Senna although he wouldn't let a single soul ever know. The crimson hair girl who had so easily brushed off Yuki, had captured his mind and he couldn't forget her. Then again he seemed incapable of forgetting any girl. How many times had he cursed his hormones that had driven him to ask someone out, to find within a week he didn't like them? Or to kiss someone tenderly to be slapped, or figure out moments later that it hadn't been the time. However right now the hormones were feeling pretty good firing up and down his veins. He had to be at the school in an hour but who was counting? They would never kick him off the team no matter how late he was. He would just be careful never to be late again. He smiled at the though of the girl walking into the library, and coming up to him. But he shook his head, Don't get a head of yourself he scolded himself, you've only seen her here once. Besides she brushed you off as bad as she brushed away Yuki. he ignored that comment.
