Katana smiled happily as she walked through the park. She looked extremely out of place among the casually dressed people who were at this particular park. The girl was wearing a floor length black and aqua gown. When her father got it for her she loved it, and immediately got more all in different colors, as well as more in the same. They were all that she'd ever wear now, considering they were a gift from her now deceased father. Her smile turned bitter at the thought. She shook her head to clear the thought and put back on her usual straight face. This was one of the only times she could get out of the house at a decent hour without a bodyguard, in other words one of her step-mother's spies.

Kira sat in a bench looking through his deck, he wanted to make it smaller but all of his spell cards played a part. He shrugged it off and decided that it gave him a variety so it'll never be the same. He looked up when he finished to see a dressed up girl, why do all upper class gotta show off? He shook his head, she looked like she walk past him, he looked over to see who was watching; only a small group of guys he talked to every now and then, so he leaned back a bit and stuck out his foot and kept looking at his cards, with a few seconds of arguing and one of the guys cutting in it could be called a reasonable way to sit.

Katana doubled back when she saw the cards in the boy's hand, walking up behind him and attempting to look over his shoulder to see. The girl was nosy like that and didn't tend to care if anyone thought she was weird because of it. "What kind of deck do you have?" She asked still looking over his shoulder. She smiled as she asked, being in a very good mood that day. She was always curious when it came to the game of duel monsters, ever since she was little she was obsessed with it. All she ever did around the house was schoolwork and playing the card game. And considering she rarely left the house it meant she had a lot of time to practice. Anyone she could ever find that played, whether it was one of the maids, of butlers, her brothers or even the guy that delivered the mail she would jump on the chance

Lira looked up when she asked him what kind of deck he used. "spellcaster, what about you?" He said putting the deck in his pocket, if she wondered what kind he used she most likely had one herself. "should i get ready to be stoned by bodyguards, or are you comeing back from a party somewhere?" He said looking around, their didn't seem to be anyone, and he couldn't pick her out as someone famous, maybe she had money but wasn't famous, it could be why she can walk around by herself.

"No bodyguards. Managed to lose them about half the city ago, I personally don't like walking around with a bunch of guys that make me look and smaller than I am, and I especially don't like the guys my step-mother sent. But anyways you should be safe, they don't believe I would be seen in 'this part of town' like it's different from the other half they chased me through... As for my deck it's mainly a fairy deck," the girl answered. She moved herself so that she was next to him and sat down.

Kira laughed a bit. "A fairy deck, does it work?" He asked, he did know that it was possible, and someone with her money could get her hands on the cards for it; but it just seemed like their were so many better cards she could get. "man, thats different; i thought rich kids got cards that no one else could get or something." He thought it was funny that she ran off from her body guards, but a fairy deck just killed that idea.

"It works just fine thank you very much, and I don't get control of my money until I am of age or some crap and my father was the one who let me buy my cards but he died now and my step-mother doesn't believe it is a woman's place or some other crap like that." Katana answered rolling her eyes. "It's a decent deck, and one that suits me well because a powerful deck is nothing unless you know how to use it and even some of the most crappy decks can win duels if their user knows how to use them right. Strategies is what wins duels, and I duel with mostly effect monsters." She answered sighing.

Kira shook his head. "i'm sure it does, and your right, there's no such thing as a worthless cards, just worthless decks." He said looking around, everything seemed to be the same, but he was bored now; it hit him every once and a while that he felt he should do something else. "are you here for battle city?" He asked, he might be able to get a fairly good duel, since Strategiey was everything. "maybe sometime i can see how well that deck of yours works."

"I've thought about joining. It'll be hard but I think I'll be able to get out of the house if I promise to bring at least one bodyguard and don't ditch him..." Katana said sighing, "Oh I'm Katana Karpa, You?" She asked, realizing she had not told him her name. "You'd lose." She added at the comment about her deck, she always had to be very defensive of her deck. There were plenty of powerful fairy monsters people just either didn't know how to use them or didn't know about them.

Kira smiled at her last comment, he had quite a bit of knowledge about fairy cards, not as much as most but enough that he should be able to fair off well. "maybe i will, but its not something that you know as a fact." he said taking his deck out and making room, it was going to be much lamer if she didn't have a duel disk, but it was better then nothing. "so what do you say, its not like you can back down after your last comment."

The girl smiled, standing up and pulling out her duel disk from the backpack she was wearing. "Rule number one, Karpa's never back down from a challenge." She said with a smirk and pulling out her deck. "And especially not one that they egged on in the first place, although dueling a potential challenger in the tournament probably isn't the brightest idea on either of our parts but hey it passes the time." She added, putting the duel disk on her arm.

Kira picked up his duel disk "maybe its not the best idea, but i'm not one to think about that." He said drawing 6 cards. "I'll go first if you don't mind." He said looking at his hand and smiled. "I'll play one monster face down defense." then setting two cards on the field. "after that I'll play Ookazi; that means you lose 800 life points, and set a card face down, and that'll end my turn."
