Yugi walked through the park slowly, enjoying the weather. The sun was out with a few gentle clouds in the sky. It was warm, but not too hot and the breeze was just right. All in all, it was a very nice day. But Yugi couldn't enjoy it for long. His mind kept wandering to Battle City, the tournament that Kaiba had created that was to start in a few days. It might have just been some tournament where he could go for fun or just not go, but apparently it was his destiny. The world needed him to be there so he could stop someone called Marik from taking over and getting the three Egyptian God cards. He already had two, but Yugi was determined to change that.
Still, despite knowing all of that, Yugi was nervous. He was doubting if he could do it, but he felt the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle trying to tell him that it would be alright. Even so, this was more serious than anything they had faced before, including Duelist Kingdom. Oh yeah, Duelist Kingdom! We got through that together, with the help of our friends. We beat Weevil Underwood, Mako Tsunami, Kaiba's dark side, Bakura's dark side, Panic, the Paradox Brothers, Mai Valentine, Joey, and even Pegasus himself. We beat some of the best duelists out there and we can do it again now!
Yugi was psyched now. He felt that nothing could stand in the way of him and the Pharaoh. That was when he noticed somebody from his past. His eyes widened in shock and immediately he started thinking about why he was there and what he wanted to do with him. But he calmed down some when he remembered that Pegasus no longer had the Millennium Eye. But still, he was a powerful man that Yugi had to watch out for.

It was just an invigorating day that caused the head of Industrial Illusions to be seen outside. Normally he would just hold himself up in his office to do boring paperwork or back at his mansion while watching his favorite cartoons. In a placid mood, Pegasus had decided to go the park just for a quick stroll.
Not expecting a lot to happen even if he is world wide renown. Even if someone was going to ask to duel him, he would accept. However, he was still one of the top duelists around just being under Kaiba and Yugi from the last time he knew. So there was no reason for him to lose if he was challenged to a friendly game or two while he was out and about.
Coming across a bench, he cringed inwardly as he decided to take a bit of a break. Of course it would be filthy from being outside in all the elements and only God knows what else has been on it besides others sitting down. Crossing his left leg over his right knee, he then tugged a little on the frills that protruded from his jacket sleeve to straighten them out.
“Hmm?” Glancing up as he felt like he was being watched by someone. Someone who happened to be nearby for that matter. Not needing the Millennium Eye for that. There were a few other people in the park besides Pegasus and Yugi, but they were either too far away or looking in another direction.
Pegasus then scanned the area and noticed Yugi looking straight at him. He hadn’t even been resting for five minutes when the familiar boy was in his presence once again. But this time it wasn’t for his tournament. Unfurling his legs, the man who invented Duel Monsters stood up and held his arms out at his side with a large smile.
“Yugi-boy! What a pleasant surprise to see you here,” he said with great enthusiasm. His silver hair framing his face and covering that left eye still; even after getting a replacement eye for the empty socket.

This was not a sight that Yugi expected to see. First, Maximillion Pegasus, incredibly rich creator of Duel Monsters and CEO of Industrial Illusions, was sitting on a park bench. He could have been anywhere in the world, doing whatever he wanted and buying whatever he wanted, but he was just sitting in this little park in Domino City. He still wore his fancy clothes and looked somewhat elegant, but all the same, he seemed a bit humbled. Maybe it was just Yugi's imagination, or maybe, just maybe, he had actually changed a bit after losing to Yugi at Duelist Kingdom.
The other thing that surprised Yugi was Pegasus's reaction when he saw Yugi. It was strange, but he seemed genuinely happy to see Yugi. To think that the man who had once taken his Grandpa and the Kaiba brothers was the same person as the one who was standing in front of him with a big smile on his face. It was very odd, to say the least. But still, Yugi walked forward and greeted Pegasus with a smile, trying to hide his worry. "Hello Pegasus. What are you doing here?"

Ah, but Maximillion Pegasus was a changed man since Duelist Kingdom. Not by much but at least he wasn’t out to get the Millennium items anymore. So that meant the puzzle was safe and Yugi really didn’t have to worry about him trying to steal it again.
He just quirked a brow when the boy asked him why he was here of all places. Good question. But it held a simple answer, too. “Why, it’s a beautiful day, of course,” he replied in a casual tone. However, he did take note that Yugi did seem a little worried about seeing him again.
Not like he can forget what he had done in the first place. But at least he was going on with his life again and not going to pull such a tournament again. If he was going to then he’d let it be for fun and prizes -- not for gambling with someone’s else’s life. He wasn’t even sure if he wanted to enter Kaiba’s citywide tournament.
“Oh, Yugi-boy there’s no need to worry about me anymore. I’m not like I was back when I hosted the Duelist Kingdom tournament -- well not in the whole ‘get the Millennium items’ way, at least,” he stated to reassure the boy. He should know that his eye was taken and left him as a better man, or at least he thought so.
(Gah. Pegasus feels all over the place with this post. >.< )

[XD Your long posts make me seem like a noob.]
Yugi gave a small sigh of relief. Of course, if Pegasus was trying to pull some diabolical scheme, he wouldn't tell Yugi right now. But Yugi felt that it wasn't like that. Something in his heart just told him that Pegasus was a changed man. The evil in his heart seemed to have gone away with his Millennium Eye. Still, Pegasus looked much the same, albeit a bit more cheery.
"I'm glad to hear that, Pegasus. I can feel in my heart that you have changed. So, I guess you've heard about Kaiba's upcoming Battle City tournament. I might not have joined, but... it seems that it's my destiny. I've been learning more and more about destiny and the past, specifically the past of the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle, and it seems that a great evil is going to be at Battle City and that great evil threatens to destroy the world if I cannot stop him."
Now that he thought about it some more, Yugi wasn't sure if he could do it. He was just a kid with a Duel Monsters deck and he was supposed to be facing a great evil that would be powerful enough to destroy the world. Not to mention, he had 2 of the 3 greatest Duel Monsters cards ever created. Yugi felt a drop of sweat fall down his face and noticed that he was breathing heavier. Then, his hand fell to his Millennium Puzzle and Yugi looked down at it. Suddenly he felt the Pharaoh's feelings as well as his own. The Pharaoh was confident, determined, and brave. But it was more than that. He was telling Yugi to be that way too and not to worry.

The creator of Duel Monsters couldn’t help but chuckle at what Yugi had said. It truly seemed like something a cartoon character would say with feeling a person’s change in their heart. At least the more newer cartoons were like that but the older ones like Funny Bunny wasn’t like that at all.
“I have taken note of Kaiba-boy’s tournament,” he said with a slight tilt of his head. “But I think I should sit this one out. It wouldn’t do my company any good if I got caught up with the bad guys who want to take your puzzle or something else and got hurt, now would it?”
He was about to add that he would have joined if he still had his eye but didn’t. Plus he had been out of commission for a little while when Bakura stole the Millennium Eye and he got his replacement. There was no need for that to happen again. Since who knows how bad it would be this time....
Feeling a bit restless, Pegasus began walking in the direction that Yugi had traveled from. “I feel like taking a little stroll. Care to join me, Yugi?” he queried as he glanced over his shoulder towards the Pharaoh incarnate. His silver hair happening to part a little so that his dark hazel eye peered through.
Happening to notice that Yugi was feeling a bit travestied on the whole “save the world” ideal that was dumped onto his shoulders. “Just think of it this way,” he began. “You defeated the one person to turn Duel Monsters into a card game, so you can’t count yourself out on not being able to beat any others that come your way. You’re just like Funny Bunny on not being captured or in this case being taken down and out of the game.”
(lol Well I'm used to making long posts depending if my muses cooperate. I loathe making short posts unless it fits; even then I still don't like it.)

Yugi's head lifted up at Pegasus's last words. Was this a dream? It seemed so unbelievable, but Yugi knew it was true. Pegasus was actually encouraging him. "Wow. Thank you, Pegasus. I needed that. And I suppose I will take that walk with you." Yugi said with a smile. Pegasus's words had truly comforted him.
As he walked over to join Pegasus again, he could feel his spirits lifted. He was sure that he could succeed with help from the Pharaoh and his friends, just like he did back at Duelist Kingdom. It would surely be difficult, but if he had overcome everything so far, he could find a way to do this too.
"It's a shame that you can't join, though I guess you do have to think of your company. I would have liked to see you dueling with the rest of us. Even with all of the importance of the tournament, it should still be fun. And I'm sure Joey would be thrilled if he had the chance to duel you now. But, I guess we have to respect your decision. Oh, before I forget, what can you tell me about the Egyptian God cards? Ishizu Ishtar gave me a sort of vague overview of them and just gave me their names. From what I gather though, they are supposed to be the 3 best Duel Monsters cards out there... and the evil side has 2 of them."

As Zain got up from sleeping under a tree, he started to stretch a little bit. As Zain looked up he saw someone in the distance just standing there and looking like they were in thought. As Zain got closer to the figure he could see that it was Yugi Motto the champion of duelist Kingdom and the one who actually beat Pegasus to become the King of Games. I-I-I can't believe that I'm actually looking at the King of Games himself, wait if I beat Yugi in a duel I could get the name King of Games yes thats what I'll do thought Zain to himself. Zain walked out of the bushes and pointed a finger at Yugi and said "I Challenge you to a duel, there Yugi Motto."

The Egyptian God cards were something that wasn’t suppose to be created, but Pegasus ended up making them anyway. It was too late when he noticed how powerful they were. He gave Yugi a small smile when he noticed that he had lifted his spirits.
However, as soon as he brought up the Egyptian God cards, Pegasus couldn’t help but shudder just a little at the thought of the other team players having two of them. Even though Exodia and Blue Eyes White Dragon was up there with power. They were even better.
“Well Joey can duel me any time he wishes,” he said as he brushed his hair back into place with his fingers. He would most definitely keep a time slot open if the blond headed kid wanted to duel him. Not that he had a chance against him. But just as long as he has improved from the Duelist Kingdom tournament then it would be worth it.
As soon as he was about to go on about the God cards to the young Pharaoh incarnate, they were interrupted by someone. Pursing his lips together in a thin line, the CEO wasn’t pleased. Yet he was amused that someone had wanted to challenge Yugi to a duel.
“We can talk later about that but right now it seems this young man wants to duel you. Not that he has a chance of winning.” Pegasus gave an almost merciless chuckle at the thought of how this kid will react when he lost against Yugi.
(I think Exodia vs the Egyptian Gods would be an endless debate on who is stronger. xD; I just think they're stronger than Exodia because Pegasus actually hid them than Exodia at any rate.)

[Ya, in this whole discussion of power of cards in the series, the Gods are definitely stronger, which is why Pegasus didn't hide Exodia and even made multiple copies of each of the cards.]
Yugi yearned to know more about the Egyptian God cards, but before Pegasus could answer he was interrupted by another kid. Yugi recognized him almost immediately as the one that Yugi had promised to duel a while back. He could tell that Pegasus was slightly annoyed by this kid, but was somewhat excited at the prospect of watching a duel. "Sorry Pegasus, but I have to duel him. I promised Zain here that I would duel him some time. I guess that now is that time. Now, Zain, are you ready?"
Yugi pulled his duel disk out of his bag and put it on his arm. Then he put his deck in the deck slot and watched as two hologram projectors shot out. His life point count lit up quickly and he was ready to duel. "Since you're the challenger, you can go first. Whenever you're ready."

Zain stood in front of Yugi ready to go with his duel disk activated on his arm. "All right I'll draw five cards, then I go and draw one more card, and I place X-head cannon in attack mode 1800 ATK. Then I activate the majic card Graceful Charity which lets me draw three cards then I have to discard two so lets see what I get and I send Opticlops and jar of greed to the graveyard. then I end my turn. Your move yugi lets you get past my monster" said Zain in a cocky tone.

Well that makes perfect sense. The creator of Duel Monsters only nodded and stepped a few feet away to watch this duel take place. Folding his arms across his chest, he stared on from the side lines while being in between to see the battle from the side. Perfect view of the whole thing so there wasn’t going to be any action missing.
“I feel like a referee but that tacky black and white shirt wouldn’t suit me,” he said as he watched Zain’s move. It wasn’t bad for a start, really. Just depending on what Yugi draws for the first move will really set this apart. His visible eye then shifted to watch Yugi’s turn.

At this time, Yugi would usually have allowed the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle to take over, but this time Yugi decided to do it himself. He didn't need the Pharaoh to get involved in this duel. He wanted to prove to himself and to the Pharaoh that he could actually duel. "Not what I would have done, but still not a bad move." Yugi said as he drew his five cards. He then drew the extra one for his draw phase. Hm... not the best hand, but certainly something I can work with.
"Now I set 2 cards face-down and summon Rapid-Fire Magician (1600/1200, Inflict 400 damage to your opponent each time you activate a Normal Spell Card.). Then I equip him with Mage Power, giving him a 500 point boost for each of my spell and trap cards, making a grand total of 3100 ATK. Now he will attack your monster and I'll end my turn."

"Alright my move" said Zain as he was drawing his next card and looked down at it and said "I'll save this for later and I'm going to place one card face down in defense position." I hope I know that this move was not a very good one, lets just see what yugi is going to do. "I end my turn its your move there yugi" said Zain reluctantly.

"Let's see what I can do now. I'm confident that the Heart of the Cards will guide me here." Yugi said. His voice indicated that he was telling the truth and that he really had faith in his deck. He put his hand to his deck and forcefully pulled out the top card.
"Heh, it looks like I was right. The Heart of the Cards is with me and it has I summon Silent Magician LV4. It has 1000 ATK and gains a spell counter each time you draw and 500 ATK per spell counter. Then I activate Change of Heart and my face-down Magical Dimension. You take 400 damage thanks to Rapid-Fire Magician's effect and I get to sacrifice your monster for a Dark Magician of Chaos from my hand." Dark Magician of Chaos and Silent Magician LV4 appeared on the field as Zain's monster disappeared. One of Yugi's face-downs was also gone however, taking away 500 ATK from Rapid-Fire Magician.
"This has been a fun duel, Zain, but it must now come to an end. My three monsters will now attack you directly doing 6400 damage in addition to the 400 that Rapid-Fire Magician's effect caused when Change of Heart was activated. And that's game." Yugi smiled at Zain.
